    I just found out that I had vitamin D deficiency. I am 23 years old and have just been feeling so not myself for a while now. I have been suffering crazy muscle & bone pains. I get sick really easy (low immune system) and it is hard for me to lose weight, even when I excercise regularly AND watch my diet. It is even hard for me to get out of bed all time! This explains it all. I did not know how important it really is!

    It’s funny…i’m a 22 year old female who has complaining about this pain that i get in my bones…. I have seen many doctors and they all tell me im healthy…so one doctors trys to say im addicted to pain killers and that i was too young to be feeling like this.little do she know i don’t take any medication i just put up with the pain….until i seen a arthritisis specialist and he took some blood test that was never done that prove that it wasn’t in my head i was feeling my pain for a reason….now i feel much better that i have found the cause of my pain and i plain on improving my vitamin level….

    Thank you for this information. I have been ill for about 2 years and multiple tests have proven inconclusive- the only thing that has been a constant is my low levels of vitamin D (at about 14). the symptoms are severe fatigue, body aches and joint pain and difficulty concentrating and focusing. Some doctors said possibly lupus or RA, still other doctors say it looks like fybromyalgia. I became tired of the back and forth- and medications that were making me worse. I left my job of 13 years(which I was physically and mentally unable to keep up with), I saw a homeopathic specialist who put me on a variety of supplements (including vitamin D) and while I need about 10-12 hours of sleep each night to be able to function the next day, I am able to take yoga and swim on the good days. Not sure if lack of Vitamin D levels can be responsible for all my symptoms, but after reading your article, I am glad I am now taking supplement.

    I recently went to the doctor with the following symptoms : extreme fatigue, chronic pain, weight gain and just an over all feeling of blah. My doctoor then ran a few blood tests and found out that I had a severe vitamin D deficiency. I couldn’t believe that something I thought so insignificant could be so important. I am only 27 years old I most mornings I couldn’t hardly get out of bed. It is just a simple blood test and only takes a couple of days to get the results so if you or anyone you know has these symptoms suggest this test. Something so simple can cause worse problems if left untreated.
